Tooth-Coloured Fillings in Katy, TX

Repairs that blend in with your tooth instead of standing out against it.

Why Composite Fillings

Tooth-coloured composite is bonded directly to the tooth and shaded to match the enamel around it. Unlike traditional silver amalgam, it's essentially invisible once placed.

Bonding also means we can often remove less healthy tooth structure than a metal filling would require, since the material grips the tooth rather than relying purely on mechanical shape.

What to Expect

  • Usually completed in a single visit
  • Shade-matched to the surrounding tooth
  • Local anesthetic for comfort, with nitrous oxide available
  • You can normally eat as soon as the numbness wears off

When a Filling Isn't Enough

If decay has taken out too much of the tooth, a filling won't hold up under chewing forces and a crown becomes the better option. We'll show you the X-ray and explain where the line falls in your case.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do composite fillings last?
Typically several years to a decade or more, depending on size, location and your bite.
Should I replace my old silver fillings?
Not automatically. If an amalgam filling is sound, replacing it purely for appearance means removing more tooth structure. We only recommend it when there's a genuine reason.
Will it hurt?
The area is numbed first. Mild sensitivity for a day or two afterwards is normal and settles on its own.
