Usually not. If your gums are inflamed it can be tender, which tends to improve markedly once the gums settle down.
What's a deep cleaning?
Scaling and root planing, for patients with gum disease. It cleans below the gum line where standard cleaning can't reach, and is typically done with numbing.
Is it covered by insurance?
Most PPO plans cover routine cleanings at or close to 100%. We'll verify before your visit.
